Geantet-Pansiot Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes Cote de Nuits, France 2009

A highly seductive nose speaks of black cherry and liqueur of red raspberry that dissolves into vibrant, rich and impressively concentrated flavors that possess a tender mid-palate but firm up quickly on the focused, intense and palate staining finish. This is not as complex as the two old vine Gevrey cuvées but it's, not surprisingly, finer. Note: from vines planted in 1940; 2009 was vinified with 50% whole clusters
