Clean flint nose; the whole becomes warmer and more generous with a touch of orange on the palate with very pure white fruits on the palate and a creamy finish.

(from a full 1 ha parcel of 40+ year old vines in Champ Canet proper though some of them were planted in 1938 at the same time as the Bienvenues). A touch of reduction cannot completely hide the white flower, pear, green apple and ripe citrus aromas. There is good richness to the relatively full-bodied and slightly more refined flavors that are both longer and even a bit more complex. This is terrific and well worth considering. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*

The 2013 Champ Canet from Domaine Sauzet is another absolutely classic example of this fine vineyards, wafting from the glass in a mix of apple, white peach, lemon oil, chalky minerality, white flowers, orange zest and discreet vanillin oak nuances. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and snappy, with a fine core, excellent balance and focus, lovely, nascent complexity and a very, very long and zesty finish. Impressive. Drink between 2019-2040.

The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Canet has a very succinct bouquet in the making, with lemon zest and orange blossom notes neatly entwined with wet limestone scents. The palate is very well balanced, reserved at first, but losing its inhibitions by the time we arrive at the precise orange zest and sour lemon-tinged finish. This is very classy and represents one of the more 'saline' Premier Crus from Sauzet in 2013.

Healthy pale yellow. Dried and fresh apricot complicated by flowers and spices on the nose. Offers good punch and nervosité as well as an attractive sweetness. Began with a distinctly silky texture but also shows strong acidity and underlying mineral spine. This very promising wine shut down in the glass.
