Mingling aromas of sweet berry fruit and plums with hints of peony, orange and raw cocoa, the 2019 Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets is medium to fullbodied, layered and lively, with a tangier, more mineral prole than the eshier, richer Champans that preceded it in our tasting. This derives from a parcel planted in 1984.
