Caroline Morey Les Caillerets Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru, France 2018

Caroline Morey Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets 2018 is a 1er Cru Chardonnay from the prized Les Caillerets climate in the Chassagne appellation of the Côte de Beaune. The daughter of Jean-Marc Morey (the Morey family has been in Chassagne since the 16th century), Caroline created her own domaine in 2014 and shares cellar with her husband and fellow winemaker Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey. `Cailleret` is a reference to the pebbles (`cailloux` in French) that are particularly prevalent in this part of Chassagne-Montrachet. "Caroline’s holding is in the centre of the vineyard, with rows running from top to bottom. Lovely primrose colour here ...
