Beautiful deep ruby/garnet colour, not 100% clear but that’s ok given the age. Still has lots of black fruit on the nose, cooked fruit, quite intense bouquet. Lots of sweet spice, crushed black pepper, some liquorice. Clear oak with smoke and cedar. Plenty of tertiary characteristics like leather, game, a bit of nuttiness and some forest floor/mushroom. Good finish too. Could drink by itself or with some lamb or steak.
