“Morey-Saint-Denis is where it all started for Domaine Dujac, producer of some of Burgundy’s most luxuriously textured, impeccably detailed reds.”
Ian Cauble, Master Sommelier
When Burgundy legend Jacques Seysses decided to leave a career in banking to pursue his passion for wine, he made the Côte de Nuits village of Morey-Saint-Denis his domaine’s home base. It wouldn’t be inaccurate to call this village-level bottling the quintessential Dujac wine—and, in keeping with this estate’s impeccable attention to detail, this is not your average “village” wine. The level of concentration and polish the Seysses family coaxes from its Pinot Noir (in this case from roughly two hectares of vines in Morey-Saint-Denis) is simply extraordinary; these are true ‘boutique’ wines, farmed organically and produced in heartbreakingly small quantities. If you want to know what best-in-class red Burgundy tastes like, this is a great place to start—if you’re able to score one of the few bottles we have!
