The 2013 Primofiore is a 50% blend of the indigenous grapes Corvina and Corvinone with 50% of the international grapes Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Franc. The grapes are air-dried for one month before being put into barrel for a year or more of aging. The wine opens to easy aromas of dark fruit, button mushroom, spice, tar and grilled herb. This is an upfront, food-friendly wine that has the crispness and delineation to pair with pasta or meat dishes. It should last healthily over the next five to eight years. Wine Advocate 89 (2013)
