The Barolo Cascina Nuova 2008 is subtle, elegant and refined. Sweet cherries red flowers herbs and mint are some of the nuances that emerge from this juicy Barolo forward. Silky, fine-grained tannins frame the fragrant finish. Aromas and flavors are just a bit forward, but that shouldn’t pose significant issues in a wine meant to be enjoyed on release. This is a stunning entry level Barolo graced with exquisite elegance and class. Fine tannins frame the silky fragrant finish. La Cascina Nuova has been aged in cask and neutral French oak barrels. Planned maturity: 2014-2024. – Wine Advocate 92, Antonio Galloni, April 2012.
