The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gains felt strict and rather austere on the nose, not quite delivering the personality and charm of the Meursault-Blagny poured just before it. The palate is more expressive with a touch of spice on the entry. Moderate weight in the mouth here and the acidity well judged, it just clams in a little towards the finish. Although it does has the weight to suggest that it will unfold once in bottle and given a couple of years to find its groove. – 88-90 / 100 points, Parker / Wine Advocate
