This is the best of the three Dujac négocoiant bottlings – unsurprising given that they are based in the village. It’s sourced from a trio of old-vine parcels, and the 80% whole bunches are savoury and well-integrated, with a little new oak spice adding complexity to the bramble fruit. This is a bit more floral in character with its mix of red currant, cherry, and soft wood nuances. There is more volume and punch to the attractively textured flavors that can’t match the precision but offer notably better depth and persistence where a touch of austerity arises. (1/2019)

The 2017 domaine bottling of Morey AC is also very good, but it is still a bit agitated post-racking and I scored it within a range as a result. The bouquet is more precise than the palate right now, as it wafts from the glass in a fine mix of plums, red and black cherries, dark soil tones, raw cocoa, and a smoky topnote. On the palate, the wine is pure, full-bodied, and has very good depth at the core, with fine focus and grip, moderate tannins, and a long finish. I am sure this will be quite good. 2023-2060.
